POSITION SUMMARY
The HVAC Field Supervisor aids the manager in assisting and training a team of technicians with an emphasis on the technical side. Supervise and handle employees’ procedural and technical inquiries. They will be required to run their own service calls, repair equipment necessary for KB Complete customers and to inspect work, and ensure that work meets specifications. This may mean running a callback with or without the original technician to ensure the customer feels satisfied with the work performed. This role is hybrid with a 70/30 between in supervising and in the field.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Help Team Service Supervisor oversee a team of HVAC service professionals, scheduling them for work, assigning tasks and reviewing their performance, and conduct performance dialogue evaluations for all team employees.
- Keep detailed records of all pending and completed work orders relative to skill development, maintaining these files in an organizationally implemented record-keeping system.
- Be responsible for preparing and maintaining team technical training. Working with the manager to develop and follow a training plan.
- Ensure team performs all of their duties in compliance with any laws that regulate the field.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in using a variety of tools and machinery to test and install new equipment.
- Run service calls to maintain, diagnose, and remedy problems throughout the heating and air conditioning system.
- Must follow all safety policies and procedures to prevent personal injury, auto or property damage to customers’ homes.
- Possess a good driving record and hold a valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license.
- Must be punctual and have good attendance. (See Employee Handbook.)
- High expectations of personal hygiene and cleanliness during the workday when interacting with customers.
- Will be required to work a variety of work shifts, weekends, and on-call duty when major problems arise or during seasonal peak times.
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- A minimum of five years working in the field.
- Excellent understanding of the National HVAC Code – and Code in different municipalities.
- Ability to work with little or no supervision.
- Strong customer service skills in working with customers, dispatch, parts, etc., in a calm and friendly manner. Must be courteous and dependable and exhibit a “team spirit.”
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be a strong team player.
- Possesses effective problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with internal staff to accomplish goals.
- Ability to handle a large volume of work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to establish a professional and productive rapport with internal and external clients.
- Ability to work under stress with interruptions and deadlines.
- Ability to master basic math skills.
- Ability to think logically when following procedures and instructions.
